A story that starts far away, a story of love for one's own land
At the end of the 1980s, Hotel La Contessa Suite & Apartments was opened in Santa Teresa Gallura, thanks to the efforts of a couple with Sardinian, Umbrian and Roman origins, Stroppaghetti Lazzaro and Spada Edvige.
The idea was to create a family-friendly place, a comfortable place that guaranteed all the comforts of home even when away from home.
The very first name of the Hotel La Contessa Suite & Apartments was "Residence i Parioli", as the construction techniques, typological cuts and services offered recalled those offered by Rome's famous residential district.
The death of Comm. Lazzaro Stroppaghetti in 1999 and the large-scale tourist development in the town called the identity of the complex into question, as competition began to grow stronger and stronger, drastically reducing occupancy and consequently revenues. So, as often happens, a period of transition began, which ended when the succession was defined.
The complex was split into two parts. One of Mr. Stroppaghetti's sons, Massimo Stroppaghetti, who was born and raised in Santa Teresa, decided to take up his father's legacy and in July 2000 founded a management company, which he still runs today, called Sardinia Holiday srl, with the aim of enhancing, upgrading and repositioning the property to the right level.

One of the first actions he undertook was to give the Residence a very strong territorial connotation and, since the area where the complex is located is called Punta Cuntessa, he decided to change the name of the Residence from "I Parioli" to "Residence La Contessa".
Perhaps you will have noticed the change of vowel from U to A in the word Cuntessa, which was unfortunately caused by a transcription error on the part of the relevant offices and which, for various reasons, could never be changed!
Massimo, following in his father's footsteps, had a very clear vision: to create a state-of-the-art property that would stand out on an international level thanks to the services offered and that could also meet the different needs of attentive guests who have always chosen to spend their holidays in relaxation and comfort.
Due to the desire and will to always offer the best, starting in 2016, after a long renovation, the Residence became an Aparthotel. The choice between a holiday in an apartment or in a hotel room becomes easy. The services are in fact those of a hotel: from the reception, to the bar, to the breakfast room, up to the beautiful outdoor pool with whirlpool.
Finally, there is the Roof Terrace, a unique place, a wonderful terrace with Jacuzzi and sun loungers.
